CEU Course Description
This course is tailored for educators seeking to understand and effectively respond to the Fentanyl crisis among school-aged youth. Through comprehensive sections, participants will explore the definition, scope, and impact of the crisis, as well as evidence-based strategies for prevention, intervention, and support within educational settings. Rooted in the urgency of addressing substance use issues among students, this course equips educators with essential knowledge and skills to recognize signs of substance use, implement preventive measures, and collaborate with stakeholders to create supportive environments for students in need. In this course, participants will learn about 1) the scope, impact, and drivers of the fentanyl crisis on today’s youth, 2) the role of schools and educators in responding to the crisis, and 3) how to take action in the broader community.
