Council for Professional Recognition (Early Childhood Educators)

Council for Professional Recognition

TeachMe Professional Development offers numerous courses for early childhood educators, and we will continue to expand in this area. The Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential is the most widely recognized credential in early childhood education (ECE) and is a key stepping stone on the path of career advancement in ECE. A CDA Credential is valid for three years from the award date, after which it may be renewed for three-year periods (Renewal credentials issued before July 1, 2013 are valid for a one-time 5-year term). The CDA has a new process for accepting training verification for credential renewal, which includes the option of completing 45 hours of training to be verified in the form of a college transcript, official certificates, or a letter on letterhead from the training agency.

Per the CDA website, educators who complete hours such as those offered by TeachME Professional Development should use the CDA Training Verification form, as follows:

-This form is for CDA renewal candidates with training certificates and/or training from multiple sources only.

-In center-based programs the form is completed by a staff person within the center/program who has the authority to review the renewal candidate's training record, for example the Center Director/Program Administrator. For Family Child Care providers, the ECE Reviewer may complete the Training Verification Form. http://www.cdacouncil.org/storage/documents/Training-Verification-Form_09-16.pdf
