CEU Course Description

This course is designed to empower K -12 educators with the knowledge and skills needed to integrate technology into their classrooms effectively. In today's rapidly evolving educational landscape, technology is an indispensable tool for enhancing teaching and learning. Participants in this course will embark on a transformative journey, exploring current trends, best practices, and engaging in hands-on experiences that will not only enrich their pedagogical approach but also prepare them to navigate the ever-changing digital realm of education. In this course, participants will learn about (1) integrating technology tools effectively into their teaching practices, (2) fostering responsible digital citizenship and online safety among K-12 students, (3) designing engaging and pedagogically sound technology-enhanced learning experiences, (4) utilizing data-driven decision-making strategies to assess student progress and inform instruction, and (5) promoting inclusivity and equity in technology-enhanced classrooms.

CEU Course Objectives

  1. Define the term 'educational technology.'
  2. Identify key educational technology tools and their applications in K-12 classrooms.
  3. Summarize the benefits and challenges of technology in K-12 education
  4. Summarize the concept of 'blended learning.'
  5. Identify commonly used Edtech frameworks.
  6. Define the concept of a 'digital footprint' and its implications for students.
  7. Recall examples of assistive technology tools or devices used to support students with disabilities in the classroom.
